Tipp-Kick Cup: a World Cup soccer dexterity game

$99.99 USD

Game Description

You've got to try this two-player soccer wünder-sensation from Germany! Millions of fans have enjoyed this game in Europe but it's still largely unknown here in North America. Let's fix that...

The game is played using miniature metal soccer players with a bright red button on the top of their head. Press the button and their leg kicks a special two-colored soccer ball die, with the sturdy metal figures and the unique shape of the ball allow for a remarkable amount of control. When the ball comes to rest, the color indicates which team has possession and can take the next kick. When a shot is made on goal, the goalie figure leaps left, right or forward at the press of a button. The game is typically played in two 5-minute halves, making Tipp-Kick a wonderfully tense and satisfying dexterity game.

This deluxe World Cup edition includes a massive (43.3" x 25.6"), phthalate-free, slip-proof felt playing field, surrounded by a sturdy frame to keep everything in place. The miniature kickers are made of hand-painted, foundry-cast metal and have been given additional weight and maneuverability for ease of use. Fun, fast-playing, and built to last, order this German mechanical marvel today.

About Mieg Sport Spiel

Invented by a young clock merchant, Edwin Mieg, Tipp-Kick made its debut at the Leipzig Toy Fair in 1926. Unable to afford a stand, Edwin set up his game on the staircase at the front entrance. When clusters of players and spectators began to form, blocking the entranceway, the security guards intervened, forcing him to leave. Seeing how much fun passersby had been having with his game, however, he snuck back in and set up again in another stairwell where he sold his first few hundred copies to excited buyers.

Tipp-Kick has been on the market for over 85 years, now, its fortunes rising and falling with the fate of German football clubs and the popularity of the sport in its home country. Today, the game has a passionate fan base not only in Germany but also in neighboring Austria and Switzerland - these three countries are where the game is traditionally played and sold. Meanwhile, the family business has been passed down through three generations and it now in the hands of Edwin Mieg's grandsons, Mathias and Jochen Mieg. It's been my pleasure to partner with Mieg Sport Spiel to help bring this wonderful deluxe edition of their grandfather's game to North American audiences.
